Andhra Pradesh:
"This all came out of chance," says Nagesh Muntha, one of the producers of Panjaa and adds, "We never planned on producing movies. We never thought if we wanted to be producers as such. Our intention was to make a good film with a good standard. We started off with a goal and we are glad we achieved it."
Producer Neelima Tirumalasetti and Nagesh Muntha of Sanghamithra Arts joined hands with Arka Media's Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni for this project.
Being their first production, Nagesh says, "We are very excited about the movie and also feel responsible. Neelima used to work with Pawan Kalyan, back in his Tholi Prema days. We have been clocely associated since then and he wanted us to continue that journey." He adds, "The result of the logical progression of the thought from there is Panjaa. He had an idea and we were ready for it. He wanted to make a stylish film on the lines of a Hollywood action film. We thought Vishnu Vardhan would be the right person for this movie and make this a trend-setting film and this is probably Pawam Kalyan's fastest movie till date, with completing the shooting in 55 days. When I saw the first cut, I felt like I was seeing Bourne Identity or something like that."
Neelima Tirumalasetti, the co-producer of the movie says that Panjaa was a very well thought out idea and is not a usual family entertainer. She adds, "The movie is set against a mafia background and on the other side also has a love story. It is a very well packaged film and the look and feel of the movie is very different." She also says, "We didn't do the film because we wanted to make a different film. It is definitely not just for one group of audience, it is for everybody. It has loads of action and comedy.
And coming to the music part, the Pappa Rayudu song is expected to be a hit among the masses." Explaining about the scratch look on poster, the producers explain, "The scratch just says Panjaa. It also shows his attitude in the movie. The way he talks, walks and looks."
Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, has a cameo in the movie. He is also a friend of Neelima and that's how he landed the role. The actor fit the bill perfectly, the producers said.
Talking about the revenue generation aspect of the movie, Nagesh Muntha explains, "The fundamental aspect of any movie is that it should appeal to all the audience. Many people watch films in districts and other small towns and which is where the revenue comes from. I cannot produce a movie only meant for multiplexes. So, we had to make the movie in such a way that it could be appreciated by all kinds of audience." The movie is set to hit the screens on December 9.
