Mumbai:
Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor said the first week of October is very important for his family since a week after Anjaana Anjaani, his parents' movie Do Dooni Char will hit the screen.
"They will be seen together after 30 years. Here, they are not the popular screen pair of Rishi Kapoor-Neetu Singh who danced to several popular songs of the 1970s, they are middle class characters who have played their part with perfection and realism. I saw the film two months ago and realised for the first time that my parents have been a powerhouse of talent," he said fondly.
The self-professed "mamma's boy" said before taking up the movie, his mother Neetu did a lot of "drama" about how she would learn her lines, do her make up.
"She also said she has grown old and her eyesight had become poor. But, she is a very good actress," he said.
Ranbir said he cannot do anything without his mother. "If I fuss over food especially vegetables, she forcibly feeds me and even cuts my nails," he said.
About his other movie Rockstar which is under production, Ranbir said he feels blessed to work with grand-uncle Shammi Kapoor.
"Even at this age, his optimism about life is an inspiration. Myself and Imtiaz Ali (director) persuaded him to take up the movie. Now he SMSs me that facing the camera has given him confidence... he hopes of doing more work and returning to movies. Out of the 12 days he was in Delhi for the shoot, he shot for six days. All arrangements were made for his
dialysis," he said.
When asked about his other projects, Ranbir said shooting for Rockstar will continue till February and then he will start work on Anurag Basu's Silence opposite Priyanka Chopra.
Referring to constant speculations about his personal life, Ranbir said, "I am single. When the media links me up with someone, I feel bad. I have always spoken the truth and there is no reason why I should lie now."
He said he felt embarrassed and shameful when he is asked questions about alleged link-ups. "Boys can get over it but gives a bad image to the girl. After our breakup, Deepika (Padukone) was linked with other people and the media would ask me questions about it. It creates a misunderstanding. Deepika comes from a very respectable family," he added.
