Actress Parineeti Chopra, who is gearing for her next film Meri Pyaari Bindu in which she sings for the first time, said singing runs in her family genes.
The 27-year-old, who was co-hosting the TOIFA's main gala on Friday, added that her cousin and actress Priyanka Chopra, who has already impressed the audience with her vocal prowess by singing songs like Dil Dhadakne Do from the Zoya Akhtar movie, and her family was "really excited" after knowing that she is getting a chance to sing professionally.
"Actually everyone in my family was excited because everyone knows that we all sing. I think it's in our blood to sing. I think it's in Chopra blood to sing so they were very happy that I was getting to do it professionally finally," said Parineeti, when asked about reactions by Priyanka and her family about her singing in the film.
The Ishaqzaade actress will be seen playing the role of an aspiring singer in Maneesh Sharma's production Meri Pyaari Bindu, which is directed by debut filmmaker Akshay Roy. When asked if she would be working on singles like Priyanka, who released singles like In My City ft. will.i.am. and Exotic ft. Pitbull, Parineeti said: "No. Right now I am going to do some music in films and then I will see."
