Chennai:
Billa 2, a prequel to Billa is in its third schedule. Ajith and the crew of the film are currently shooting for the project in Goa.
Written and directed by Chakri Toleti, the film has a fresh story. First runner-up at the Miss World 2008 beauty pageant, Parvathy Omanakuttan, is making her debut in Tamil cinema with Billa 2. She plays the love interest of Ajith in the film.
The actress, replaced Huma Qureshi, is actually not aware of this fact. "I've no idea who was first chosen to play this role. For me, this film happened while I was doing a show in Chennai. The producer met me and later spoke to the director. I don't analyse about what happened. I'm here to give good cinema and work with good people," says Parvathy, who hails from Kerala.
Talking about Ajith, her co-star in Billa 2, she says it was a pleasure working with him. "He talks to everyone in the same manner, no matter what the person does, and it's really nice to see a senior artist being friendly with everybody on the sets. In short, he is a man of humility. And I feel every newcomer should learn from him."
In Billa 2, Parvathy plays the role of a simple girl who visits Goa. "It's more about how a simple girl transforms into a modern person. I have more to do with the emotional part of the film. I play a person that Billa looks up to," she says.
For Parvathy, acting has always been a passion. She brushes aside rumours that she didn't want to act in Malayalam films.
"I haven't signed any Malayalam films as of now. I don't know who is spreading such rumours. In fact, after Billa 2, I've been getting offers. I'm contemplating," she says.
And language has not been a barrier for Parvathy, who attaches great importance to the scripts. "I want to be an actor who can act in any language. For me, language is no barrier. In fact, I want to dub in my own voice in both Tamil and Malayalam. I'm hoping Chakri will agree and let me dub in my voice for my role."
