A new day, a new box office record broken by Pathaan. Shah Rukh Khan's film made over Rs 500 crore at the domestic box office at the end of Day 28, reports trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Tuesday's ticket sales brought in Rs 1.10 crore, taking the film's total earned in India to Rs 500.05 crore. Pathaan is the first Hindi-original film to have made a fifth century on home ground. The film released on January 25 and has been shattering record after record ever since; Mr Adarsh also provided a list of milestones crossed.

Pathaan is now chasing the record total of the Hindi dub of Baahubali: The Conclusion. "After hitting its fifth century, Pathaan sets its sights on the highest-grossing Hindi film in India: Baahubali 2. (Nett BOC) (Week 4) Friday 2.20 crore, Saturday 3.25 crore, Sunday 4.15 crore, Monday 1.20 crore, Tuesday 1.10 crore. Total: Rs 500.05 crore. Hindi. India biz. All time blockbuster," tweeted Taran Adarsh.

The total collected by Pathaan's Tamil and Telugu dubs is Rs 18.01 crore; combined, the film's Hindi and regional versions have made Rs 518.06 crore in India.

Taran Adarsh also tweeted a list of box office benchmarks set by the Hindi version of Pathaan – several of these milestones set were the quickest so far in Bollywood.

Yesterday, Mr Adarsh tweeted that the film was set to breach the 500 crore mark and would be the first Bollywood movie to do so:

Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, stars Shah Rukh Khan as a RAW agent up against a terrorist for hire, played by John Abraham. He gets an assist from an ISI agent played by Deepika Padukone.
