New Delhi:
Sir Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell have jetted off to the Caribbean island of Mustique for their honeymoon.
The newlyweds - who tied the knot at London's Marylebone Register Office last Sunday (09.10.11) - are thought to be staying at Rolling Stones singer Sir Mick Jagger's luxury beachfront mansion Stargroves, which usually costs £10,000 a week, during their four-day break.
One islander told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "Sir Paul is a regular visitor to Mustique and has stayed before at the home of Mr. Jagger.
"He loves the privacy the island offers and there is no better place to spend a honeymoon. Everyone will just leave them to enjoy their special time together."
The 69-year-old musician and 51-year-old heiress - who landed on Mustique on Friday (14.10.11) - will be able to make use of a floodlit tennis court and a 25ft swimming pool at the resort, and the pair will have their own personal watersports instructor.
The island is home to Basil's Bar, which has become a popular evening spot for a number of stars who have visited the island including Kate Moss, David Bowie and Liam Gallagher - and owner Basil Charles would love the former Beatles singer to toast his marriage with a song at his establishment.
He explained: "I've not seen Sir Paul yet but he's been in a few times in the past.
"Everyone would love to see him and Nancy and raise a glass to the happy couple. I met them in February the last time they were here and they seemed so happy together.
"You never know he might even sing a song or two, which would be lovely."
Paul recently paid tribute to everyone who sent goodwill messages to the couple, who will head to New York for a private party with Nancy's family following their honeymoon.
He wrote on his website: "Nancy and I want to thank everybody for the wonderful greetings and messages of goodwill that we received.
"We had a really great day with family and friends; it was relaxed, fun, emotional, heartfelt and a total pleasure for the two of us and everyone involved."
