Hollywood actress Penelope Cruz hasbecome the latest celebrity to join PETA's anti-fur adcampaign.
The 37-year-old star has posed in an ad on a 70-footbillboard. The photo shows her turning her head to look overher bare back next to the words, Give Fur the Cold Shoulder.
The advertisement is set to be displayed outside NewYork's Madison Square Garden and will be up throughout NewYork Fashion Week from February 9-16.
"Penelope Cruz has appeared on every 'best-dressed' listin the world, and the one thing you'll never see her wearingis fur. One couldn't ask for a more fitting emblem of themodern, glamorous woman who knows that there's nothing morebeautiful than a woman who has a look that kills withoutanyone having to die for it," said PETA's Chief FunctionaryPoorva Joshipura.
Cruz is the latest fashion icon to speak out against fur.First ladies Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy havedeclared that they would never wear real fur, as have starsTwiggy, Kelly Osbourne, Pink, Pamela Anderson and Eva Mendes.
