New York:
Popstar Katy Perry's much talked about Sesame Street cameo has been chopped after producers of the cult children's show received complaints about her risque outfit.
The complaints flooded in after the release of a trailer which showed the 25-year-old chasing beloved character Elmo around a cartoon set to a child-friendly version of her hit Hot n Cold.
But her lime green bustier dress prompted the ire of viewers on YouTube and now producers of the show have decided not to run the clip on the children's show which is an American institution, reported New York Post online.
The song, which was supposed to air on New Year's Eve, made its way to YouTube on Monday and has already racked up nearly a million views.
But after some parents started complaining that her cleavage was rather too prominent, producers have decided not to air the song.
The I Kissed A Girl singer is among an illustrious line of celebrities who appeared on the show. Past guests include David Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cameron Diaz, Ricky Gervais and Michella Obama.
