London:
Rocker Pete Doherty wants to re-invent himself as the British Eminem, says a close friend.
The ex-Libertines frontman, who has battled drug addictions, is writing a hip-hop album and is planning toshock fans by rapping at a forthcoming gig, The Sun online reported.
"He has actually said he wants to be Britain's answer to Eminem. He has told us he's started writing hip-hop songs,"his friend said.
Doherty's new found commitment to the hip hop world has even made him bought two tracksuits to look like the US rapper.
