Rajkumar Hirani's film PK, starring Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma, now holds the record for the biggest non holiday opening collections after Dhoom: 3. The films's first day earnings are expected to be Rs 26.63 crores.
According to the figures released by Box Office India, the best collections have come from Maharashtra and South India with both Andhra Pradesh and Mysore putting up huge totals.
Diwali blockbuster Happy New Year currently holds the record for the biggest opening day collections which were estimated to be around Rs 44 crores.
