Probably for the first time inthe history of the Planning Commission, the nation's officialthink tank today organised special screening Peepli Live, asatire on farmers' suicide and inefficiency of developmentprogrammes, for its senior bureaucrats and planners.

The film, which was even seen by Prime Minister ManmohanSingh last month, is a political satire based on the farmers'suicides, approach of bureaucrats and superfluous approach ofelectronic and print media.

The plan document, which willeventually be approved by the National Development Council(NDC), the highest policy making body of the country, is basedon the guidelines provided in the Approach Paper.
