Mumbai: Actor Rahul Bose said that his film Poorna will make Indians happy and proud.

Poorna, which is being directed by Rahul, is based on a true story of Malavath Poorna, a girl from Telengana who created history on May 25, 2014, by becoming the youngest girl in the world to scale the Mount Everest. She was just 13 when she pitched the Indian flag at 6 AM.

Rahul, whose last film as a director, Everybody Says I am Fine! released in 2001, said that he chose this particular story as it is inspiring.

"Sixteen years after directing Everybody Says I'm Fine!, a lot of people are curious as to why I chose a more 'mainstream' film to direct. The answer is simple - it's a true story. It's an unbelievably inspiring story," Rahul said in a statement.

"It's a visual feast as you start from a tribal village and ascend 29,000 feet to the top of the world, but most importantly, it is a story that as an Indian will make you laugh and cry. It will make you proud and will make you leave the cinema hall feeling six inches taller," added Rahul.
