Hollywood actress Natalie Portmanwas left in pain on the sets of her new film Black Swan as she"dislocated a rib" and film bosses couldn't afford an on-sitemedic.
The 29-year-old actress, who plays a ballerina in theDarren Aronofsky film, spent up to eight hours a day in dancetraining to make her portrayal believable and suffered a ribdislocation when she was lifted in one of the scenes, reportedSun online.
"I injured a rib, I like dislocated a rib, it sort ofwent under another one, when you get lifted it just sort ofwent under.
"When I got injured I called the producer, I was like'Could you get the medic? I need an ice pack or somethingright now,' and he was like, 'Oh, we don't have a medicbecause it's super low budget'," Portman said to talk showhost David Letterman.
"I have been working for like twenty years, I don'teven think that's legal. I was like before you take away amedic, take away my trailer and the next day I didn't have atrailer, I swear to God!"
Portman also said she lost a fair bit of weight forthe role.
"I think I lost like 20 pounds, I mean I'm 5ft 3in soit was pretty extreme. I mean I am back at my healthy weightnow, I like eating so I waited until the very end to do thediet part," she said.
