Prakash Jha is the director of films like Gangaajal and Satyagraha
Kolkata:
Filmmaker Prakash Jha, who had wanted to become a MP but was unable to, says he no longer desires to associate with any political party.
"I have no interest in becoming a part of any political ideology or party," Mr Jha told the press here on Wednesday.
"I wanted to become an MP because I thought these people who are in a position have access to resources. They do not use their position for the benefit of people. If you organise yourself, you can do a lot," he said.
Mr Jha lost the Lok Sabha election from Bettiah in Bihar in 2014 as a Janata Dal-United candidate. He unsuccessfully contested as an independent in 2004 and on a Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) ticket in 2009 from the same constituency.
