Preity Zinta in a still from Dil Se
Mumbai:
Actress Preity Zinta will reportedly wed rumoured boyfriend, financial consultant Gene Goodenough, in an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles in April. (Also Read: Inside Preity's Birthday Celebrations; Starring Salman Khan, Sunny Deol)
At least, that's what this DNA report says. Preity, 42, and her long-time NRI boyfriend will apparently have a private church wedding in Los Angeles which will be followed by Rajput-style nuptials in Mumbai.
The DNA article quotes a source as saying, "Preity and Gene are both extremely private people and will get married sometime in April this year. The church wedding will be a private affair, with Preity and Gene's close friends and family, flying down to LA for the ceremony. It will be a select group of people who will fly down for the LA wedding which will be tastefully done up keeping Preity's personal tastes in mind. It will be followed by a big fat Rajput wedding (consisting of a three-day affair and having wedding, sangeet and mehndi) in Mumbai with the who's who of the film industry in attendance."
The source adds that the wedding, sangeet and mehendi outfits will be designed by the actress' close friends Manish Malhotra and Surily Goel.
The actress was earlier believed to be in a relationship with industrialist Ness Wadia. Ness and Preity, co-owners of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kings XI Punjab, are believed to have dated for five years between 2005 and 2009. In June 2014, the actress filed a police complaint accusing the Wadia Group scion of having attacked her at an IPL match in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium.
The same year, the actress told Mumbai Mirror that she was 'dating someone nice.' She was quoted as having said, "Yes, I'm in a relationship with someone nice. Finally, I have time for myself as the cricket doesn't need me physically." She didn't explain who the nice someone was.
Preity, star of films such as Dil Se, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Kya Kehna, Mission Kashmir and Sangharsh, made a comeback with the poorly-received Ishkq in Paris (2013) which she produced as well as starred in. She was last seen in 2014's Happy Ending.
