Preity Zinta, on Monday night, shared photos from her daughter Gia and son Jai's mundan ceremony on Instagram. "So the Mundan ceremony finally happened this weekend," wrote the actress. She explained the significance of the ceremony in her caption and she added, "For Hindus the first shaving off the hair for babies is considered to be a gesture of purification from the memory of their previous births and freedom from the past. Here are Jai and Gia post their mundan ceremony." She added the hashtags #tradition, #mundanceremony and #ting. In the comments, Preity's  Soldier and Jhoom Barabar Jhoom co-star Bobby Deol dropped heart emojis. Deanne Panday commented "how cute."

Preity Zinta married Gene Goodenough in 2016 and she moved to Los Angeles. However, she keeps visiting India. The couple welcomed twins via surrogacy in 2021.

In May, Preity visited India with her husband Gene and their kids and she wrote sharing this post from Himachal, "My kind of heaven. The last couple of days have been amazing. Mountains, family, clean air amd a digital detox. No better sound than hearing... Mama... mama for the first time from the kiddos. This really is heaven."

Preity Zinta is best known for her performances in films such as Dil Se, Lakshya, Salaam Namaste, Kal Ho Na Ho, Veer-Zaara and Dil Chahta Hai among many others. Preity Zinta was last seen in Bhaiaji Superhit, which released in 2018. She also featured in a small role in ABC series Fresh Off The Boat in one episode.
