Chennai:
Actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran will star in the Malayalam remake of critically acclaimed Spanish time travel thriller Timecrimes.
"Although the film will be an adaptation of the original, its remake rights have been bought. Prithviraj is most likely to produce while newcomer Kannan will direct it," a source close to the actor told IANS.
Timecrimes, a bizarre thriller laced with the concept of time loop, revolves around a middle-aged man who is fighting himself to escape a time continuum.
The makers are currently on the lookout for the rest of the cast.
"If everything goes as planned, the film may go on floors early next year," the source said, adding that Prithviraj will add a few kilos to play his part. (Also Read: Akshay Kumar to Star in Hindi Remake of Vijay's Kaththi)
