Mumbai: Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has become the third most followed woman in Asia with 12 million followers on Twitter on Friday, a day when her much-awaited film Bajirao Mastani hits the screens.
Priyanka tweeted:
The actress is the most followed woman on Twitter in Asia after Indonesian singer-actress Agnez Mo (14.5 million) and Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone (12.5 million).
Priyanka, who made India proud by bagging the lead role in American TV series Quantico, has had a 50 percent growth in followers over the past year, read an official statement from Twitter.
Needless to say, her popularity has only grown by ever since she ventured into Hollywood foreign.
After winning the Miss World crown in 2000, Priyanka carved a niche for herself in Bollywood with a string of roles which showcasing her versatility. A National Award winner, she has proven her acting skills in films like Fashion, Barfi! and Mary Kom.
Priyanka's film Bajirao Mastani, in which she co-stars with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, released this Friday.
