Nineteen films have beensubmitted for consideration for 86th Oscars' best animatedfeature film category.
Some of the big films that will compete in the categoryinclude Frozen, The Croods, Despicable Me 2, Cloudy Witha Chance of Meatballs 2 and Planes where one of thecharacters is voiced by Bollywood beauty Priyanka Chopra.
The list of submitted films also includes foreign entriesincluding Legendary Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki's lastfilm The Wind Rises and another Japanese animation Lettersto Momo, South Korea's The Fake, South African Khumba,Canada's The Legend of Sarila and Brazil's Rio: 2096 AStory of Love and Fury.
According to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts andSciences, several of these films have not yet had theirrequired Los Angeles qualifying runs.
At least eight eligible animated features must betheatrically released in Los Angeles County within thecalendar year for this category to be activated.
The 86th Academy Awards nominations will be announced liveon Thursday, January 16, 2014 while the main awards will takeplace on March 2, 2014 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood &Highland Center.
