Mumbai:
Director Apoorva Lakhia has wrapped up the first schedule of Zanjeer remake with its lead actor Ram Charan Teja, and says that Priyanka Chopra will join the shooting in September.
"We have shot 40 percent of the film in Mumbai with the other star cast. The film should be done by November end and is scheduled for a next year release," said Lakhia.
"Priyanka will join the crew by September," he added.
The actress will step into Jaya Bachchan's role in the film and there were reports that Amitabh Bachchan, who played the lead role in the original that won him the title of "Angry Young Man", will do a cameo in it.
When asked whether he has already shot with Big B, Lakhia said: "No comments".
Zanjeer remake is being produced by Amit Mehra, son of late filmmaker Prakash Mehra who had directed and produced Zanjeer, which was released in 1973 and the film's stupendous success turned Amitabh into a superstar and after that he never looked back.
