New Delhi:

Nag Ashwin's Project K is a film that needs no introduction. Ever since the project was announced in 2020, fans have been waiting with bated breath for any and all updates about the Prabhas- Deepika Padukone project. Now, over three years later, the first look of Deepika Padukone from the film has been released and the internet simply cannot keep calm. The poster – while doing little to tell us anything concrete about the film – is a close-up of Deepika Padukone's striking face. However, the poster does support the assumption that the film falls in the sci-fi genre with its rugged yet dystopian vibe. The poster has elicited a range of responses from fans on social media. While some find it compelling, others feel it has not lived up to the hype.

The poster was shared by Vyjayanthi Movies with the caption, “In her eyes she carries the hope of a new world. @deepikapadukone from #ProjectK.” Project K also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan.

Reacting to the poster, one user explained the probable logic behind the rather simple poster and said, “Deepika looks stunning but compared to the hype team created this is very ordinary first look. There's possibly something about the sign near her collar. I'm sure it's just because they don't want to reveal too much. Go #ProjectK  #DeepikaPadukone #WhatisProjectK

Another fan guessed, “Looks like #ProjectK is a dystopian story. Finally, a true sci-fi from us. #DeepikaPadukone's look is giving actor vibes rather than model vibes like in #Pathaan. Can't wait for the movie already.  Became a fan of #NagAshwin.”

A fan page dedicated to Deepika Padukone said, “So many amazing things: The fierce eyes, the expressions, the hair, the parted lips, the angle, the posture, the lighting, the background. No one is like her. True grace and elegance! Truly Mother and Queen. #DeepikaPadukone #ProjectK #WhatisProjectK #Prabhas.”

As mentioned above, some fans felt that the poster was nothing to write home about. “That #DeepikaPadukone First official Look from upcoming #ProjectK is just ordinary & nothing to shout about....” one user said.

Many were also irked by the delay in the release of the poster. Initially, it was announced that the poster would be shared at Monday 5 pm but was released only on Tuesday morning. “Great....please get on to the next update,” one user snapped.

“Queen, waiting for king look,” gushed one fan, referring to Prabhas.

“So, she is searching/waiting for the Kalki, the world saviour,” one fan guessed.

In a post on Instagram, the team also shared that the first glimpse of the film will be shared on  July 20 in the USA and on July 21 in India.

Deepika Padukone and the rest of the cast recently made exciting announcements on their social media platforms, revealing that Project K would be featured at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego. With this Project K will be the first-ever Indian movie to be showcased at the renowned event.

Deepika Padukone expressed her pride by posting on Instagram, "Proud to be a part of the first ever Indian movie to go to Comic Con. See you there."

In addition to Project K, Deepika Padukone will be seen headlining Fighter and a cameo appearance in Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan.
