Aditya Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor's son, was by the veteran actor's side during the last few moments and lauded his father for keeping the family together.
"He kept his family close to him. It is a very big achievement that in spite of being such a big star he could keep his family together. He completed his vision that's a great achievement. Shammi Kapoor is not just my father, he has left such a huge legacy," said Aditya.
The funeral to be held tomorrow (August 15), will take place at the Ban Ganga crematorium in Mumbai, where his wife Geeta Bali was also cremated.
"I'm waiting for my son to come from the USA," he added.
In hopes that Shammi Kapoor's vitality lives on, Aditya said, "I don't think dad would want anyone to cry for him. I don't (see) people are crying here - Shammi ji ko baar baar dekho. I was with him in his last moments. He enjoyed his life."
