The actor shared further updates on Twitter about mommy Aishwarya and the Baby B before calling it a night.
"Have put the wife and daughter to bed. Now sitting alone and re living the whole day again, UNBELIEVABLE," the actor tweeted.
"So overwhelmed with all that has taken place today. Thank you thank you ALL for your kindness,love and prayers.It means the world to us," he further tweeted.
Next, in the footsteps of father Amitabh, Abhishek took to thanking the media for showing restraint in their coverage.
"And a very special mention to ALL of the media for being so thoughtful, kind and respectful. Truly appreciate it. Thank you," Abhishek tweeted.
The Bachchan baby had generated huge interest even before its birth and Twitter and other social sites were flooded with posts about '#Baby B'.
"Have to get some rest now. Haven't slept in over 40 hrs. Sleep well and good night," Abhishek tweeted before signing off.
