Academy Award winning composer AR Rahman paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth by sharing a throwback picture of himself with the Queen and composer-impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber on Friday. AR Rahman, in his caption, revealed that he met her last during Bombay Dreams musical. Back in 2002, AR Rahman and Andrew Lloyd Webber collaborated on a Bollywood-themed musical titled 'Bombay Dreams'. It was produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber and AR Rahman composed music for it. The London production of the musical began in the year 2002. AR Rahman captioned the post: "Last I met her was during a charity show of Bombay Dreams musical with Andrew Lloyd Webber. AR Rahman added: "RIP Queen Elizabeth." Queen Elizabeth died at Balmoral Castle in Scotland after reigning for 70 years. She was 96.

AR Rahman's long list of awards includes six National Awards and several Filmfare Awards from across Bollywood and the South film industry. He was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2000 and Padma Bhushan in 2010 for his contribution to Indian music and cinema. AR Rahman's Grammy wins were two more trophies added to his awards legacy, headlined by the Academy Awards - he won two Oscars for Slumdog Millionaire in 2009.
AR Rahman has also won two Grammy Awards in 2010 - Best Compilation Soundtrack for a Motion Picture (for Slumdog Millionaire) and Best Motion Picture Song (for Jai Ho). Last year, he composed music for films like Mimi, Atrangi Re among others. He recently composed music for Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan.
