London: The British Queen has invited Prince William's wife Kate Middleton to a summer break at her Balmoral Castle in Scotland so the Monarch can "get to know her", a media report said.
The Queen is, in fact, said to be keen to forge a closer relationship with 29-year-old Duchess of Cambridge, 'The Sun' reported.
The trip to the Highlands will show she has been elevated to the highest ranks of the family. Kate will also meet staff and enjoy picnics in the idyllic surroundings of the Scottish countryside, the report said.
Royal author Ingrid Seward was quoted as saying, "Kate is family now and the Queen wants to get to know her." The Queen's invitation follows Kate's successful tour of North America with 29-year-old William.
