He is known for playingruthless, negative characters but actor Ashutosh Rana nowwants to portray the likes of Raavan, Hitler, Chanakya andSwami Vivekananda.
The 46-year-old actor, who is best known for playing apsychopath killer in Dushman, said that he wants to playhistorical characters to show his acting prowess.
"Its my long cherished dream to play timelesscharacters like Raavan, Chanakya, Karna and Hitler. If adirector approaches me with such a role, I would make it mypriority to be part of the film," Rana told PTI.
"Even in my school days, I used to actively take partin Ramlila and play the role of Raavan. As an actor I wouldfeel the character was thoroughly commended for bringing outthe various aspects and shades of Raavan," he added.
Rana, who hails from Gadarwara, Madhya Pradesh, saidthat he feels blessed to have achieved so much in his lifealready.
"Whatever I thought of, I have been able to do exactlythat in my life. It is not everyday that people get so luckyin their life as well as career," Rana said.
He started his career with the television serialSwabhimaan, followed by Farz, Saazish, Kabhi Kabhi,Waris and anchored the TV show, Baazi Kiski.
Rana is mostly offered roles of antagonists in movies,particularly that of a killer. And in some movies like Zakhmand Ghulam he has played supporting roles as well. He hasacted in film down South and is known as Jeeva there.
