Emraan Hashmi and Bipasha Basu starrer based on black magic rakes in almost Rs 36 crore over the weekend.
Mumbai:
Given the good performance of the previous two installments of Raaz at the box office, the trade was rather upbeat about Raaz 3's fate as well. And looks like their expectations have been fulfilled.
Trade Analyst Amod Mehra said: "The film has done amazingly well across the country, which began with paid previews on Thursday. The collections improved with every passing day and even on Monday it is holding up well. In fact the 3D collection of the film is better than the 2D collections."
Speaking about the Emraan Hashmi-Bipasha Basu-Esha Gupta starrer, single screen theatre owner Akshaye Rathi said: "Emraan has grown from strength to strength by catering to the masses and Raaz 3 capitalises on his mass appeal very effectively!"
"The public has given the film a big thumbs-up and the huge weekend collections (almost Rs 36 crore) are a clear indication of that. The combination of Emraan's crowd pulling ability, Bipasha's sex appeal and Vikram Bhatt's massy sensibility has brought out a solid entertainer that should become a winner at the box office," he added.
The two other films of the week Chal Pichchur Banate Hai and Riwayat were completely washed off by the Raaz 3 wave.
Trade analyst Amod Mehra said: "Right now, everyone is looking forward to next week's release Barfi!. The film has already garnered a lot of positive buzz.
