Saif Ali Khan said that Race 2 directed by Abbas-Mustan film could have been much better and that Race 3 is on the anvil.
Mumbai:
Saif Ali Khan is happy that his latest release Race 2 has finally managed to enter the prestigious Rs 100 crore club. However, the actor says that the film could have done better had the second half of the film been meatier.
The actor feels that the film should have raked in at least Rs 140 crore by now. Saif said, "I think the second half of the film was a bit plastic as it was a good-looking film. Abbas-Mustan presented me in a very heroic way."
Apparently now the third instalment of Race is also underway. "I will make sure that we will have an amazing script. We are waiting for our writer Shiraz Ahmad to get back to us and we already have a couple of very good idea."
Saif Ali Khan added that the script of Race 2 was a bit far-fetched but feels that a true fan would enjoy the film as it's meant to be.
"I did the film as I liked the world depicted and the characters. I knew their further adventure would be interesting. I knew one has to be a fan to enjoy the film. We need to push a little harder and set high standards for ourselves," he said.
Saif Ali Khan feels the race doesn't stop at entering the Rs 100 crore club. He said, "It is not the question of only Rs 100 crore but how far you can push beyond that. Numbers for me are important and I will be doing commercial films for the time being."
