Radhika Madan, who stepped into the shoes of Aparna Balamurali, in the Hindi remake (Sarfira) of Soorarai Pottru, recalled how Suriya reacted to her performance in an interview with News 18. Radhika Madan revealed she was "scared" to look at Suriya during the screening apprehending how he would react. Speaking of Suriya's reaction, Radhika Madan told News 18, "He's very kind and gracious and a man of few words. He told me, 'You did a great job. The film is very nice.' And that meant a lot. He's a very quiet guy. Sudha ma'am has worked with Suriya in the past and she told me that if this is how he has reacted to our film, it means that Sarfira is really good."
Radhika continued, "I couldn't look at him while he was watching the film because I was too scared. I told myself that if he likes it, he'll tell me and if he doesn't, then he'll keep quiet. I'm glad that he said something. It felt amazing. Everybody came together like a team, believed in Sarfira and celebrated it for what it was."
In an interview with India Today, Radhika talked about the age gap with Akshay Kumar and she said people are talking about their "intense chemistry" after watching the film. Radhika told India Today, "It was there when the film was announced and when the trailer came out. But post the release surprisingly, I read 42 reviews and none of them mentioned about the age gap." Sharing her joy for being appreciated in the film, Radhika said, "All they mentioned was they have cracking chemistry, intense chemistry, and lovely chemistry. Everyone mentioned the chemistry. The same people who were saying that, 'why this' after watching the trailer."
