Southern superstar Rajinikanth has expressed his sadness about legendary actor Shammi Kapoor's untimely passing. Kapoor, who was 79, died in his sleep this morning after a long battle with his failing kidneys.
The Tamil actor, whose own foray into Bollywood met little success, was a big fan of Shammi Kapoor's trademark energy.
"I am a great admirer and a huge fan of Shammiji, his energy on screen is a treat to watch. I've loved every bit of it," he said.
"Shammiji's demise is a huge loss to the film fraternity and millions of fans. I convey my heartfelt condolences to all in Shammiji's family."
Rajinikanth bid adieu to Shammi Kapoor in poignant fashion with his parting words:
"O mere sona...you will always live in our hearts."
