Chennai:
Superstar Rajinikanth has once again come out in strong support of Anna Hazare and his Jan Lokpal Bill.
The India Against Corruption (IAC) Facebook page says Rajinikanth visited Chennai volunteers of the IAC working on the preparation of the fasting venue at Ragevendra Mandapam, and congratulated them.
Earlier this month, Rajinikanth said Anna was his Hero. The IAC had at the time released a statement from the superstar in Chennai.
"I wholeheartedly support the IAC movement in their campaign to get the Jan Lokpal Bill legislated in Parliament. I'm very happy that we have a very able and dedicated leader in Anna Hazare to lead the fight against corruption," the superstar, hailed as the Thalaivar by many, said
."I congratulate all the Indians who have lent their support to this bloodless revolution! This kind of peaceful movement is possible only in India which is the birthplace of Satyagraha," the superstar added.
"There could be no doubt that corruption is a dreaded disease and needed to be weeded out from society," he said.
Rajnikanth's fans wanted their Thalaivar to express his support through a statement, rather than by fasting to avoid his health from deteriorating.
The superstar underwent extensive treatment for kidney-related ailments in April and May this year.
