Chennai: Rajinikanth's upcoming film Kabali has been already booked for Rs 200 crore, say sources. It will be shown in around 5000 screens around the world. For the first time ever, an Indian film will be dubbed in Malay, Chinese and Thai. The film is also breaking ground in Indonesia.

The film's producer Kalaipuli Thanu, who gave Rajinikanth the "superstar" title in the Eighties, said: "Believe it or not, in the US alone 500 screens would show the movie. It's normally impossible. We have achieved it."

Kabali's promotions too will literally scale new heights. A few Air Asia planes will be painted around the Kabali theme. At low altitudes, these will draw eye balls. Onboard passengers will be served a special Kabali menu.

The superstar has chosen a young film and music director. The Rs 160 crore film is about don Kabaleeswaran and Rajinikanth sports a bearded look that suits his age.

Actor and film historian Mohan Ram says, "Rajini's charisma is undying. He should continue to pump the industry with funds through his films." On his new look he said: "Historically he has the youth to give him from the past or from the most successful past. So it's magic at work."

Actress Radhika Apte is the film's leading lady and Taiwanese superstar Winston Chao will play the villain. Kabali's teaser received 20 million views on YouTube. Over the weekend, the film's music too will be released on the social media. The film is slated for a July release.Watch:
