Bollywood filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, who suffered injuries after falling from a motorbike here, was discharged from a city hospital after undergoing surgery. (Also Read: Aamir Khan Visits Rajkumar Hirani in Hospital, Says He's 'Doing Fine')
The 52-year-old director was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Lilavati Hospital in suburban Bandra after he fell off a motorcycle yesterday.
"Mr Hirani's jaw was dislocated and fractured for which doctors operated on him. He is fine. He was discharged from the hospital last evening," Dr Jalil Parkar from Lilavati Hospital said today.
Sources disclosed that one of Mr Hirani's employees had purchased a new motorcycle and asked him if he wanted to ride it. The PK director reportedly agreed, but was driving at a low speed and could not manage the bike's weight and fell.
Mr Hirani is best known for the movies Munna Bhai MBBS (2003), Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), 3 Idiots (2009) andPK (2014).
All the films directed by Mr Hirani have been huge successes at the box-office.
