Hrithik Roshan might reportedly feature in Rakesh Mehra's Kabaddi.
New Delhi:
Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who is currently prepping for his upcoming Fanney Khan, starring Anil Kapoor has disapproved that actor Hrithik Roshan has walked out of his forthcoming directorial Kabaddi, reports PTI. However, the 54-year-filmmaker has even not confirmed that Hrithik is still a part of the film. Of the rumours, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who was present at a Gandhi Jayanti celebration and launch of a Model Government School, told PTI: "This is wonderful. Before I know things media knows it. No, there is nothing like that. The Rang De Basanti director said that he is currently working on Kabaddi's script, which will be based on sports, reports PTI.
Mr Mehra added, "Script writing is the most wonderful process which I enjoy. It's also tedious and a slow process. Rang De Basanti took me five years to get it right. I think we should be ready with the script in a year or 18 months from today," reports PTI.
He also inaugurated a toilet and spoke on the importance of cleanliness. His upcoming film Mere Pyaare Prime Minister revolves around the sanitation issue. Of the film, he said, "The film is about an eight-year-old kid who writes a letter to the Prime Minister asking some questions to him. He goes to Delhi to deliver the letter. He wants to make a toilet for his single mother (which is played by Anjali Patil)," reports PTI.
He also revealed that he is hoping to release the film by next year. "I am hoping to release anything between February and July next year. The shoot is over though. We had fun making the film. It was shot in Ghatkopar with the slum dwellers. Somewhere the film and the work I do outside the industry (social service) came together and I didn't feel like I was working," PTI quoted Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra as saying.
On his upcoming project Fanney Khan, the director had earlier told IANS: "It's a movie I am producing. Divya Dutta is also a part of Fanney, and it's always a pleasure working with her." Rakesh Omprakash Mehra's last directed film was Mirzya and his 2013's Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, starring Farhan Akhtar, won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film.
Fanney Khan is a musical comedy which features Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles.
