Ram Charan On Good Morning America: "SS Rajamouli Is Known As Steven Spielberg Of India"

Ram Charan is making the most of his Los Angeles trip. The actor is there for work. Ram Charan will be attending the 95th Academy Awards, scheduled to take place on March 12. RRR song Naatu Naatu is nominated in the Best Original Song category at this year's Oscars. During his Los Angeles visit, Ram Charan also appeared on Good Morning America 3, where he said that RRR director SS Rajamouli "is known as the Steven Spielberg of India." Ram Charan said during the show: "It (RRR) is about friendship, great brotherhood, camaraderie, the relationship between these two characters. And I think it is one of the finest writings of my director Rajamouli, he is known as the Steven Spielberg of India." He added, "Everybody calls him that, and I hope he's going to make his way to the global cinema very soon, with the next film."

Speaking of Steven Spielberg, the cinema legend too is a self-confessed fan of SS Rajamouli's RRR. During a Zoom call with SS Rajamouli, the filmmaker said this about RRR: "I thought your movie was outstanding... it was just amazing." He added, "I couldn't believe my eyes - it was like eye candy... A beautiful visual style and I just thought it was extraordinary to look at and experience. So congratulations for RRR."

Ram Charan and Jr NTR played freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharamaraju in the period drama RRR, set in the British-occupied India of the 1920s. The cast includes Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn as well as British actors Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody and Olivia Morris.

RRR is going places. Earlier this year, the film won Critics Choice Awards in Los Angeles. It won two awards - Best Foreign Language Film and Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu. The film was also won a Golden Globe for the song Naatu Naatu.
