Mumbai:
Ram Gopal Varma may be all praise for his latest find, Nathalia Kaur, but the Indo-Brazilian model says the director is not her mentor or godfather in Bollywood.
The director has launched faces like Urmila Matondkar, Antara Mali, Nisha Kothari in the past.
Nathalia, his latest discovery, has done an item number in Varma's upcoming movie Department and will be the heroine of his next romantic thriller.
The model, however, maintains that her equation with Varma is nothing more than that of an actor and director.
"Ramu (Ram Gopal Varma) is not my godfather or mentor. I am just working with him. He is a director and I am an actor," said Nathalia.
The actress was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to a half Indian father and Brazilian mother and she says she fell inlove with Bollywood the moment she came to India.
"I fell in love with the industry. I think Bollywood is such a place which has space for everyone. I admire all the actors and actresses," she said.
Nathalia, who made her debut in the Kannada film Dev Son of Mudde Gowda, said that she takes her Bollywood career veryseriously and is learning all she can about the film industry.
"I take my career very seriously. It is not like fun or games. I do my homework. I watch Hindi films. I have done alot of research about the industry. I have read a lot. I am taking Hindi classes and also learning dance," she said.
Asked if she will stick to doing item numbers, Nathalia said, "I am an actress not an item girl. I met Ramu for a rolein a film first and the item number happened later. I am also doing a film with Rana Daggubati. It is a romantic thrillerand we will start shooting in July."
