New Delhi:

Ram Gopal Verma was one of the most reputed filmmakers back in the 1990s and early 2000s.

He gave us iconic films like Rangeela, Satya, and Kaun, amongst others, that went on to become a huge rage.

Recently, in an interaction with Galatta Plus, the filmmaker shared how his gradual downfall started when he made RGV Ki Aag with Amitabh Bachchan, a remake of the iconic film Sholay.

Ram Gopal Verma mentioned how Amitabh Bachchan had put his reputation at stake, and how RGV Ki Aag became a laughing stock.

The filmmaker said, "That was his trust in me. He didn't ask why. Their not questioning me was understandable because I had built credibility as a director after making so many films. They must have assumed I knew what I was doing. At that time, they didn't know how Aag would turn out. Amitabh probably thought I was creating an interpretation of Sholay."

Ram Gopal Verma further revealed, that he had an inclination that the film will not do well, just 2 months before the release.

However, it was too last minute to make any changes. He also believed that he had put more efforts in RGV Ki Aag, than he had in Sarkar

Sarkar also had Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. Sarkar had released in theatres, on July 1, 2005.

On the work front, Ram Gopal Verma recently announced his upcoming film Syndicate, the plot revolves around the presence of an organisation, which threatens the very existence of India.
