Rana Daggubati debuts in Tamil

Director Vetrimaran's next project seems to be getting bigger by the day in terms of star value.

While there are already talks that actor Simbu might play the lead role in the yet-to-be-titled movie, the director has now revealed to City Express that Tollywood superstar Rana Daggubati will also be part of the film.

"Rana has been finalised for a cameo," says Vetrimaran.

Rana Daggubati shot to fame with his role in the Telugu movie Leader and has acted in Dum Maro Dum (Hindi) with Bipasha Basu and Abhishek Bachchan.

The director doesn't want to share details about the character Rana will get to play in the film. All that Vetrimaran is willing to say is that he found Rana suitable for the role.

Another actor who has been confirmed is Andrea.

"She also plays an important role in the movie," says the director. According to him, talks are still on with Simbu for playing the lead role. With regard to Amala Paul, he claims that she was never considered for the lead role. Vetrimaaran says, "The movie will be about organised crimes in the city."

He discloses that he wanted this to be his first film. "However, I realized even before finishing the script that it can't be possible."

When asked about the delay in finalising the title, he says, "Vada Chennai will be suitable for the movie and I hope I get the title allotted."

While he says the hunt is on for the heroine, he informs that his ever-loyal technician team will work with him on this movie as well. "All my technicians are already in place including GV Prakash for music and Velraj for cinematography," he says.
