Hyderabad: The much-awaited movie Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum, starring young Telugu actor Rana Daggubati, is expected to open in 1,000 screens worldwide Friday.
The bilingual film in Telugu and Tamil, is likely to outnumber Aamir Khan's Bollywood film Talaash in terms of screens in south India, according to Telugu film industry sources. Both the movies are scheduled for release the same day.
Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum will be released in more theatres than Talaash in Andhra Pradesh and in equal number of screens in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, said the sources.
The action-adventure drama is directed by Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi, popularly known as Krish.
In the movie, Rana is paired opposite actress Nayanathara, who plays a journalist.
Rana is said to have done some daredevil scenes without using a body double.
The actor made his debut with "Leader" and his performance earned him acclaim. In a career of just three years, he also acted in Nenu Na Rakshasi and Na Ishtam and Hindi movies Dum Maro Dum and Department. He, however, is still looking for a big hit at the box office.
Owing to strong buzz, the pre-bookings for Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum and Talaash have opened well. Both Aamir and Rana are known for innovative and extensive promotions of their movies.
Taalash is a psychological thriller produced by Aamir Khan, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, and is directed by Reema Kagti. It is a story of a police inspector trying to solve a high-profile murder mystery of an actor, who was killed in an accident.
