Ranbir Kapoor has been a fan of cinematic legend Charlie Chaplin ever since he was a young boy.
Little did he know that one day he would be doing a film where he would be required to communicate in the same manner that Chaplin did in his silent era films.
Ranbir's grandfather Raj Kapoor's 1951 film Awaara had him essay a tramp which took references from Charlie Chaplin
When Anurag Basu offered him the role of Murphy in Barfi! with Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz, Ranbir Kapoor decided to take a trip to New York to watch a Broadway show titled Chaplin-The Musical to prepare for his role.
In fact, even as a child, Ranbir had seen the show several times.
