Ranbir Kapoor: Will try harder next time for National Award
Ranbir Kapoor played the role of a hearing and speech impaired boy in Anurag Basu’s Barfi!.
Mumbai: Actor Ranbir Kapoor is disappointedthat the film Barfi!, which won him all-round accolades,failed to bag national awards in any category.

However, the actor has vowed to get over thedisappointment and work hard next time for the award.

"When we started working on Barfi!, we never expectedthat it will win awards....but it did. We are happy with thelove that we got from the audience. The film also went to theOscars ...we were quite excited. Next time, I will try hard,"he said.

The 30-year-old star was speaking at a pressconference where the first look of his upcoming film YehJawaani Hai Deewani was launched.

Anurag Basu-directed Barfi! is a love story between ahearing and speech impaired boy (played by Ranbir) and anautistic girl (played by Priyanka Chopra). It was India'sofficial entry to the Oscars in the Best Foreign Language Filmcategory.

Ranbir's performance won him the Best Actor at almost allother film award functions but it failed to impress the juryof the national awards.

"I am happy that Irrfan Khan won the Best Actor nationalaward (for Paan Singh Tomar). I had shared the (best actor)award with him in one of the other functions. I will workhard...do better job...I will try harder next time (fornational award)," he said.
