Less than an idol act this. Prajakta Sukhre, a participant in the popular reality show Indian Idol some years ago, was arrested last night on charges of rash and negligent driving.
Prajakta was racing her car with friends, among them India's first Indian Idol Abhijit Sawant, when she lost control and her vehicle hit two teenagers on a motorcycle, the police complaint said. Police said a crowd that had gathered beat up Sawant and his friends.
Prajakta was granted bail and released on a bond of Rs. 3000. The incident occurred in the Daulat Nagar area of Sanatcruz, a western suburb of Mumbai.
