TV star Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya reached out to her former boyfriend Sharad Malhotra after being targeted by his fans on social media following her wedding to actor Vivek Dahiya. Sharad, with whom Divyanka has shared screen space in Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, condemned his fans for trolling Divyanka and appealed for privacy. Divyanka, who has a verified account, thanked the actor in the comments section saying it was the "best parting gift."
On an unverified Instagram account which is now private, Sharad wrote: "Was a little disappointed when I got a text from Mrs Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya stating that apparently some of my fans were deterring her image and hurling abuses at her and family."
"On one hand we have the women at the Olympics making the nation beam with pride and happiness and on other we also have a certain section of people who are disrespecting women..," he added.
In the note shared on August 20, Sharad also added: "As Mrs Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya asked me to make a public note, so I hereby request one and all that kindly respect women and please respect our privacy as we both have moved on. I wish her a happy married life."
Divyanka married TV star Vivek on July 8 in Bhopal. The wedding ceremony was followed by receptions hosted in Chandigarh and Mumbai.
