Respect should be shown to those who guard our borders: Farhan Akhtar
Farhan Akhtar says we should'nt act as if nothing has happened
New Delhi: Clean shaven, sporting a neat cut, Farhan Akhtar -- The man who wears many hats, has finally bid adieu to his Milkha avatar. His film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, is all set for a July release and currently in the post-production phase.

The actor, who rigorously trained for his role as the Flying Sikh, was in Delhi to unveil Omron's blood glucose monitor and stressed on the importance of health and fitness even while admitting that he has never been the one to go for tests or routine health check-ups.

Ever since the first look of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag hit the screens, the actor has been flooded with calls and is overwhelmed at the response. He says playing Milkha Singh has been his biggest challenge and that there was no room for mistakes while playing a man the country has seen walk, talk and of course run.

So what was the fear that came to mind when he tried wearing Milkha singh's running shoes. Farhan said, "I hope they fit."

While he didn't mention anything about a Don 3, Farhan did divulge that his next movie Shaadi Ke Side Effects opposite the newly-married Vidya Balan Roy Kapur would go on the floors next month and that the movie was a full-fledged comedy. He revealed the film did pose a challenge since neither he nor his co-star Vidya had done in any comedy. Talking about Vidya Farhan said, "She has done such great work, I doubt if she missed working on a comedy."

When asked to comment about the current strain in the Indo-Pak cultural ties, this is what Farhan had to say, "It's a dicey debate but I feel there is a certain respect that we have for people who protect our borders and very rightfully so. At times when the situation seems a bit flared up, I feel respect should be shown towards those people and it can't be on one hand soldiers are firing away at each other and on the other hand things are going on as if nothing has ever happened.

I think it is disrespectful to the armed forces so I feel at times like this when the tension has escalated we should sit back and focus on a little bit on getting the tension down first de-escalating that and then move to the next level.

The fit actor is all set to chronicle his fitness regime and give his fans an insight into his life as Milkha.
