New Delhi:
What can you expect from a film that has Vidya Balan being played by a male actor? Titters? No. Tedium? Plenty. Daruvu suffers from gaps in reason and logic. As a socio fantasy film, it lives on as a punch line of bad movie jokes.
Be warned, its plot will leave you reeling. We won't even debate the narrative coherence and filmmaking skill. But let it be known that Bullet Raja (Ravi Teja) can live a 100 years. He gets killed by a jealous lover called Harbour Babu (Sushant Singh). Yama sends him back to earth as a politican to atone for his premature death. This is also where you have a near-death experience in the plex.
Even Ravi Teja's comic timing and Taapsee's simpering can't resurrect a film that has gaping plot holes you could fall into. You wonder what came over Sushant Singh. Give us a good slasher film any day.
Watch Daruvu only if you really, really have nothing else to do.
