Actor Rhys Ifans has said he wasshocked when he was cast in The Amazing Spider-Man becausehe never expected to land the job.
The 44-year-old actor, who plays the role of The Lizardin the re-boot of the popular Spider-Man film franchise,admitted he felt he had to audition because of how big itcould be, reported Contactmusic.
"Well I was being invited to make this. This is the storyof any actor's life. You go for 100 auditions a month and veryfew of them come to fruition. But with Spider-Man, youthink, 'Oh yeah, I'm familiar with that franchise! I think Ibetter go for this one!" said Ifans.
"So off I went, not expecting - I never expect to get agig - and you weren't sent a script because it was all verysecretive," he added.
Ifans had to use a lot of CGI technology to get intocharacter, and he admits it felt like he was going "clubbing".
"I was participant in a technology I have absolutely nounderstanding of, but a willing participant. This was crazy,'Why am I sitting in a room with these blue lights, with amillion dots on my face?' It was like going clubbing orsomething!" he said.
