Los Angeles:
They had split post a violent altercation just hours before they were to appear onstage at the 2009 Grammies and Rihanna and Chris Brown will finally come face to face at this year's awards.
The Rude Boy hitmaker has agreed to have the restraining order against her ex-boyfriend lifted so that he can attend the ceremony, reported People magazine online.
Rihanna has asked for the protective order to be dropped to a level so they can now legally contact each other, as long as Brown does not do anything threatening to her.
The order has not been officially modified by the judge but Rihanna and Brown's lawyers are aware of the change that is due to take place in the coming days.
This change will come nearly two years to the day of the Grammys incident that shocked the pair's fans and the music industry as a whole.
Brown appeared in court two weeks ago for a progress hearing when his lawyer Mark Geragos asked the Los Angeles judge to lift the restraining order against the R&B singer.
Judge Schnegg did not grant the request immediately but said he would consult Rihanna's attorney David Etra to get approval, which was apparently granted today.
