Actor Rishi Kapoor ended a five-year absence from Twitter with a birthday wish for late director Manmohan Desai who would have been 78 yesterday.
Mr Kapoor tweeted this photo from the sets of 1977 film Amar Akbar Anthony:
Happy birthday Manmohan Desai. Your films live forever. Thank you for working with me. God bless your soul! pic.twitter.com/ov4VpXtGQ8

Mr Desai, who also directed Rishi Kapoor in 1981's Naseeb and 1983's Coolie, died in 1994 after he fell from the balcony of his apartment.
Rishi Kapoor joined Twitter in January 2010, announcing his arrival with this tweet:

After an almost-six month silence, he promised to be more forthcoming:

After this tweet in June 2010, there was silence for years:

Mr Kapoor belongs to a social media shy family. His son Ranbir and nieces Kareena and Karisma are absent or near-absent from both Twitter and Facebook. His wife Neetu is the most active Kapoor, with an Instagram account she regularly updates.
