Rishi Kapoor and Poonam Dhillon in Yeh Vaada Raha
New Delhi:
A photo of Ranbir Kapoor at the grand Diwali party hosted by the Bachchans has made it to the trending list but it isn't the 34-year-old actor who's trending. That would be his father Rishi Kapoor and actress Poonam Dhillon.
Ms Dhillon's daughter Paloma is pictured with Ranbir in the photo, posted on her Instagram account three days ago and it appears that fans of her mom and his dad are tripping sheer nostalgia.
'Pinch me,' Paloma captioned the post:
Paloma, in her early twenties, is the daughter of Poonam Dhillon and her ex-husband Ashok Thakeria.
Ms Dhillon, 54, and Rishi Kapoor, 64, have frequently co-starred in films like Yeh Vaada Raha (1982) and Ek Chadar Maili Si (1986). In David Dhawan's 2002 comedy Yeh Hai Jalwa, Poonam Dhillon appears in photographs.
Ranbir Kapoor, meanwhile, just had a big release last week in the form of Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. His co-star in the film is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was directed by Rishi Kapoor in 1999 film Aa Ab Laut Chalen - so, connections everywhere you look. In a way, it's rather fitting that the social media abstainer's photo should result in viral fame not for the younger Kapoor, but for the elder.
