Ritika and Madhavan in a still from Sala Khadoos
Mumbai:
Little did actress Ritika Singh know that the girl from Kalyan would get a break in a film that had Rajkumar Hirani as one of the producers. Life has changed.
"When I was five, I used to see women fight the bad guys in films and tell my father, 'pa kitna maza ayega na agar mujhe bhi aise koi mauka mile," Ritika told NDTV while promoting her film Saala Khadoos.
"I know that the people in my colony are talking about me when they see me but they don't come out and congratulate me. I am hoping that will change once the film releases on January 29," she added.
But while Ritika is excited, her mentor and Sala Khadoos co-star R Madhavan has a word of caution.
"It's absolutely impossible to get a first break. It's even more difficult for the film to be made and be a hit. It's very important to handle the stardom when it comes. I have seen so many come into the industry and just vanish after some time. I hope I will be able to guide Ritika through this," he said.
But for now Ritika seems to be enjoying all the attention.
"People in my gym are so supportive that when I hit the gym they play songs from the films and that feeling is just amazing," she said.
We wish her all the luck.
